What is Mom Smarter, Not Harder?
As moms we’ve never had more access to information on how to parent…yet all this info hasn’t helped make momming any easier. The overload of information- and influencers- made us question our own judgment and has gotten in the way of us putting any stock in or even listening to our own maternal instincts.
As a mental health professional, I work with women every day who are thirsting for a more personal connection and sense of community as they begin their journey into motherhood.
After years of informally supporting friends and family through pregnancy and postpartum life after my own children were born, I was perpetually shocked by how little my friends and family members knew about pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and newborn life. The medical systems we have in place are failing them, failing us. I founded Mom Smarter, Not Harder in order to expand access to education and support while connecting moms back with their intuition through Mom Survival Guide Support groups.
Who’s behind Mom Smarter, Not Harder?
Hi there! I’m Ellie Gillespie: Mom of 2 (ages 3.5 and 2), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Nurture by Naps Certified Group Leader. I’m currently working on my Certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Provider.
I live and work in Lexington, MA with my husband and two daughters. I have a fierce loyalty for my favorite grocery store (Market Basket), I love to travel, and most of the time I’m a pretty good Mom. In my day to day, I love to play with my (sometimes) wonderful children, spend time with my (often) wonderful husband, and see friends whenever I can.
